New Astra

The New Astra is quite an eye catcher, fabulous looks, an athletic body and amazing performance and is available with a range of sophisticated state-of-the-art technologies such as FlexRide and AFL+, proving beauty is more than skin deep.

There are a range of engines to choose from, three ECOTEC petrol engines – an all-new 1.4i 16v VVT available with 87PS and 100PS power outputs, and the 115PS 1.6i 16v VVT – feature 16 valves and the latest in variable valve timing (VVT) with optimised swirl characteristics. And there are two turbocharged engines – an exciting all-new 140PS 1.4i 16v VVT and the proven 180PS 1.6i 16v.

On the diesel side, ECOTEC engine technology is equally impressive – and beneficial. All four engines share cutting-edge common rail multi-injection, variable geometry turbocharger and 16-valve technology. Finally there are three ecoFLEX units – a 1.3CDTi 16v (95 PS) and two 1.7CDTi 16v versions (110 PS and 125 PS) – or our top-of-the-range 160 PS 2.0CDTi 16v completes the choice.

The new chassis delivers improved ride comfort, driving dynamics and steering response, with reduced noise and vibrations, with the Watt’s link rear suspension preventing any lateral movement of the axle, providing a smoother ride and improved handling.

The FlexRide system at the touch of a button changes the whole driving dynamics to taut sporting excitement or relaxed long-distance travelling with uncompromised safety and stability.

With its advanced passive and active safety equipment and the innovative driver assistance systems such as AFL, Electric Park Brake, Electric Climate Control and Infotainment Systems make the New Astra one of the safest and most enjoyable cars to drive in its class.
